The Mares-Wienke RGBM (Reduced Gradient Bubbles Model) algorithm takes into account the phenomenon of micro-bubbles in order to prevent their formation to the greatest possible extent. In over 10,000 real dives monitored by Dr. Bruce Wienke in the Los Alamos laboratories, the formation of micro-bubbles has been studied and evaluated in order to better understand the mechanism behind how micro-bubbles are formed during a dive. Today it is the most evolved algorithm for reducing the formation of micro-bubbles without compromising dive times.
The latest model of the MARES dive computer family has incorporated a function that allows you to upgrade its software over the Internet using the DRAK interface. This feature makes it possible to download the latest software developments as MARES develops them, without the need to buy a new computer unit. Smart, easy to use and upgradeable - provided first by MARES.
MARES computers are equipped with extended memory to let you store more data, allowing you to record 40 hours of diving (about 50 dives), including the complete profile in 20 second intervals. Scroll through the logbook function after your dive to view all your information and the dive profile.
All MARES computers have interfaces with which to download your personal dive data as a complete file. This information can be then stored and managed using the user-friendly IRIS software. Your dive data is stored as Microsoft® Access database file, and it can be even exported into a Microsoft® Excel spreadsheet. But beyond just using the software to store your dive profiles, IRIS can be used as a complete planning tool for your future dives.
As a further result of the intensive research work done by Dr. Bruce Wienke, MARES and Dr. Wienkes team have added the deep-stop function to their dive computers. This function helps prevent the formation of micro-bubbles at greater depths during the divers ascent to the surface. This model is widely used in the field of technical and commercial diving, where added safety is a must to ensure the health of divers who dive frequently under severe conditions. All these added safety features do not extend your total dive time, but they significantly increase your safety.
The Easy Access push buttons allow the diver to operate the computer in all conditions, even when wearing thick gloves. Navigating through the computer programs is extremely simple and very intuitive, whether the computer is equipped with two or four push buttons.
Along with a few other manufacturers, MARES provides the functionality of user-replaceable standard batteries for its dive computers. By doing so, we make it possible for users to replace dead or weak batteries whenever and wherever needed. Standard batteries can be found almost anywhere around the world. You never need to abort a dive with a MARES computer because of a dead battery, and all your information is stored safely.

My biggest concerns for buying my first dive computer were that it be easy to understand while diving, buttons are easy to press and that its data is downloadable. The Nemo Wide is great for all of these except Mares is pimping you for extra cash for the interface cable. My biggest complaint is that the manual for the computer could be a lil more thorough and included some step by step predive setup for us newbies.

For years I have always used a Monitor. The Mares Wide is a brilliant replacement and upgrade from a proven air computor to a variable nitrox. My only concern is the SHORT battery life. However a replacement battery is neither expensive nor difficult to come by. Well done Mares.

Question : les personnes ayant eu le problème de durée de piles. A quel température de l''eau ont-il plongé ? Après chaque plongée ont-il mis l''ordinateur en mode OFF ?

cela fait un peut plus 1 an que je plonge avec le nemo Wide environ 50 plongé dont la derniere il y a 3 jours sous glace en plus eau a 4° cet été en Égypte eau 21° jamais eu aucun problème il y a des gens qui ne savent pas sen servir alors il narrête pas dy toucher donc les piles ne dur pas longtemps mais de la au bout de 3 plongée ???? moi je nai encore jamais changé les piles pour cest du matos très fiable

Great computer, but the price of the download cable is nothing short of scandalous. Who is going to pay £85 for a cable. Heres an idea Mares, Lower Price = Higher volume. Capisce ?

The new Mares Nemo Wide for 2010 has the capability of handling two gases, for dives that need decompression with a higher oxigen mix (nitrox). So is this the upgraded 2010 model or the old one? Thanks a lot in advance. Athanasios Pappas.

Ordi acheté il y a 3 ans. Dés la réception, la pile dorigine était morte. Changé avec une pile identique en grande surface, fuite de la pile après 5 plongées. Nouvelle pile achetée avec joint neuf, plus de 130 plongées en 2ans1/2 et tout va bien, plongée sous glace et mer rouge, excellent ordinateur

Jai acheté le NEMO WIDE à Nouvel An 2011, 30 plongées depuis SANS PROBLEME, ordi très facile dutilisation, pas besoin de chipoter sans arrêt pour avoir les données necéssaires. Logitiel de transfert : bien (attention ne fonctionne quen 64 bit - jai encore un autre PC en 32 bit : ne fonctionne pas), très clair en plongée et je le recommande. Excellent rapport qualité/prix.

jai acheté le nemo wide il y a bientot 3 ans et ai fait 100 plongées avec sans AUCUN problème ! un peu encombrant cest vrai mais très bon rapport qualité/prix ! je cherche par contre maintenant un endroit où changer la pile à PARIS où lon peut aussi tester létanchéité. merci !

un peu encombrant mais bonne visibilité des infos. fonctionne sans probléme avec subsurface (http://subsurface.hohndel.org/fr) logiciel libre et gratuis de gestion de données de plongé.
