Reviews about Cressi Gara 2000 HF

Cressi Gara 2000 HF:

The first fin in the world made by combining three different materials, a process that Cressi perfected and patented with this fin, which guarantees unsurpassable performance.
The blade is made from a special, incredibly reactive polypropylene, which is at the same time extremely light, and progressively charges up during the stride to take off like a spring at the exact moment the stride is inverted.
A soft elastomer anatomically wraps around the foot, blocking it with a comfortable bite, which guarantees perfect transmission of the leg-fin thrust.
A suitably solid copolymer hardens some critical zones of the foot, and is extended along the sides in two lateral stringers, which go halfway along the blade.
The function of these stringers, assisted by special raised bands on the bottom of the blade, is to regulate and harmonise the bending, at the same time protecting it from shocks and abrasions.
The fins are extraordinarily light compared to equivalent models of rubber footed fins and reduces the inertial masses to the minimum, to the full advantage of the effort-efficiency ratio.
This fin is designed for deep skin-diving, although some Scuba professionals and instructors appreciate it a great deal.

Excellent Fin, Easily the MOST Comfortable Foot Pocket. Strong Blade, A workout on the surface Swim, But Awesome on Decent, Extremely Responsive for Slow Stalking of Prey, Awesome Power for manuverouing through WICKED SURF, I Powered a 14.2 Kg Yellow tail Kingfish to the surface, UNFORGETABLE

Gara is good....

First, the service from scubastore is unsurpassed, got my fins from spain to south africa to my front door in basically 2 business days..... Thanks!! The fins? Well I am a beginner freediver, and spearo, I am easily diving 30m, but compared to my old cressi freefrog fins, I find these quite difficult because of the stiffness. I definitly need some serious practice with these fins. But they fit great, very comfortable. I am really impressed through.

The perfect fins !

David r. canada

Can you believe that I've visited stores in Montreal, Canada, and it would have cost me around 165 U.S. Even with the shipping, I saved 50% !

Cressi gara 2000

Beginner freediver from canada

These fins are so good, I'm gonna buy another pair, just for the pool, and from the same place I got my first pair.........thats right the scuba store. Took 4 days from Spain to Canada. When looking for a size, my 40 - 41 ( US. 7 - 8 ) fits a little loose, so make sure you buy one size smaller if you intend to not wear socks. Buy these fins, and buy from this site! Its great not to have to spend 100.00 more for them.

Thanks

Joseph

The service here is excellent. Spain to Miami in three business days. The fins are everything I could have asked for, The most comfortable foot pocket on a long blade. Can't beat the price, even when you include shipping.

Comfortable & good fins

Job de jonge

The GARA has a very nice, well fitting footpocket with a good, adequate stiff blade. Scubastore adds a fast & cheap delivery, within 3 days from Estartit to Tilburg, Holland!

Great fins and fast delivery

Christian andersson

It took 24 hours from Spain to Sweden. That´s really great. The fins are really nice but i have to get used to them.

Long

Joe

can someone note how much long are these type of fins?thx

Length

Joe

The blades of the gara2000hf are 59cm from the tip of the footpocket. The overall length depends on your shoe size, but will be `round 85cm. Gara2000 is an average fin when it comes to length.

Great fins ! A test case: in an underwater 25m. swimming-pool race, I easily beat my buddy (wearing Cressi's Pro Star) by 2,5 meters (appr. 10% !). To my opinion, they really don't take much strength to handle. Really fast delivery (3 days from Spain to Holland) and an excellent sales support when somehow, the first shipment seemed to have been cancelled. Thanks ! Can't wait to go freediving again...

Beware of the size!

Niklas johansson

Very nice fin, I?m very pleased! A few things to think about thou: * As mentioned, the Chressi size is a little bit strange. I?m normally a 44-45 (Swedish size) but Chressi 44-45 is definitely too big barefooted. Therefore I bought the smaller 43-44 which is okay but nearly too small. * The fins are quite heavy and I can now loose a kilo on my weight belt. Nice ? but be quick if you drop them! * I was afraid that the surface swim would be difficult with bigger fins but no no.. They do just fine in the swimming lane and are not to stiff. Definitely recommendable!! By the way, the fin is 86 cm long for you, as like me, looking for a suitable bag to stuff these babies into.

Perfect fins for freediving!

Peter sjöberg

I have pretty much the same opinion as the rest of the guys here. I live in the Åland islands, and it took only about 3 days to get the fins! Very good service and very low prices compared to the local stores. Please feel free to visit our freediving web-page: http://freediving-aland.propercomfy.co.uk/index.html It will soon change the adress to: www.freediving-aland.com

Size?

I want to use this fins outside. My size is 41/42 wich size should i have on my bots/socks? and the fins?

Scuba diving

Can i use this fins when i am scuba diving

Gara200s

Gks

Heya, I bought a pair about 4 months ago, and they were a great buy - at 70 notes, they're a damn good price, and they are damn nippy compared to scubafins. In answer to the question as to whether they can be used for scubadiving - DEFINITELY - I've done about 25 dives in em, and now I don't wear anything else... & I used to use split-fins (before I lost em!) 1 word of advice - if yer buying cressi 3mm socks, buy a couple of pairs - if you walk around in them on a divesite, the heels won't last long...

I'd love these fins, but where can I buy them? i'm somewhere around a 37-38, do they make them that small?

A great fin. I find these comfortable and responsive. I do not find them demanding and I have had newby friends use them with the greatest comfort. I am a 45 wide and got them in 44 45 size, and they fit great without neoprene socks, only nylons. They are durable and I find the non-removable blade design very responsive since it seems like the fin is a natural extension of your foot. My only critique is that I sense a little bit more slippage than with the Esclapez. This is a great price by the way. I will recommend to friends, but would appreciate if the seller stated the 2 or 3 mm fin sock equivalent size so my friends can know what size to buy for CA waters.

I have used a pair of these fins for about three years both for freediving, and for teaching SCUBA classes, and I have to say they are the best I have ever used. One note is that I wear a 44.5 shoe, but the 42-43 size fin fits me best (used with no sock, just barefoot).

I got a pair of these fins in the summer of 2005 and I am absolutely thrilled with their perfomance! It is a great fin for freediving as well as spearfishing, I use mine for both!

best fins i have ever had, gets you down to whatever depth your tryin to get to with very little exertion

I just bought these and haven´t got them fieldtested yet, but I´d like to add a word regarding the size of the footpocket on these fins. They´re really big. I´m a standard 45 (EU) and I get a snug (but still loose) fit with 3 mm socks. If you´re a 44 and don´t want to use socks you should definately go for the 42 / 43 size.

Size & stifness

Rasmus - denmark

Regarding size: My foot is size 42. When I wear 3mm socks a size 42 - 43 fits perfectly. I have had other Cressi fins before, and they have all fitted perfectly in that particular size. When it comes to stifness you have to consider the time and lenght your going to swim - I use other, softer, long blades if I know I will be swimming for more than (+ 1½ hour). Never the less - the 2000HF are excelent for both deep and long "recon" dives - they are really cool to "work" with!

Fin size

Tolga

My shoe size is 43. I just got a pair of gara 2000 hf 42-43. They are too tight. I think you should get 1 size larger than your shoe size.

Sizing the cressi 2000 gara with 5mm socks.

Scott epstein

I would like to purchase the Cressi Gara 2000 and use them with 5mm socks. I am a size 42-43. Does anyone have advise for me?

Re: sizing the cressi 2000 gara with 5mm socks

Eivind vold

if you use 5mm oscks you should go up to sizes 44-45/46-47

Exellent

just got them. really fast, two workdays from spain to sweden! they are everything I expected. really effective and comfortable. takes some poolpractice to get used to thou. at least for me having used only short soft fins before. thanks a lot guys.

Help sizing

M.ali

i wear 46-47 i wonder gara 2000 going to fit me with 3mm socks pease help

Cressi 2000

Roland

I have size 47 feet and I can wear them with 2mm socks all day.

Cressi fins

Guilherme

This fins are amazing, the footpocket allows you to completly fix your foot to the rubber and prevents your foot of lateral movements providing you a longer resistence.

Best in a class

Rudak

As i gather information on web for a while i deicde to get em.Very big change after regular fins(the standard shorter ones) comfortable pocket, very stiff blade which normally require more kicking in first place, but leg is a fast learner and it will adjust to the new buddy:) In my humble opinion after these u coud only wish for carbon ones :)

Great for scuba

Miguel

Just want to mention these are my favorite long fins for scuba. Very maneuverable compared to other long fins. Helicopter turns are easy and you can even back up with them! Good power to push tank and/or camera through the water. Too stiff for long surface swims though for me. My favorite scuba fin.
