This mask is excellent for all sorts of diving, scuba, snorkelling and freediving. When first encountered with this mask, I was not sure whether the curved glass would distort the vision when in water, but after having used the mask for open water diving, I find this not to cause a problem. The mask is perfect for deep freediving and spear fishing because of its extremely low internal volume. The field of vision is like no other mask I've ever tried. It's perfect for all my diving, and I recommend it strongly.

my first thoughts of this mask were that it couldn't possibly fit my small face but i found this mask to be one of the best fitting masks I've tried on. it's easy to clear and gives you a great field of vision!

I'm a bit dissapointed with this mask. The side vision is good, a little unsharp but acceptable to keep track of your buddy. The down vision is worthless. Impossible to see the equipment hanging on the BCD. The glass is plastic and VERY easy to scratch.

Hi, I just about to make my first purchase of some scuba equipment. The fins and snorkel I know what I'm getting it's just the mask. I like the sphera, but in the black-black. I'm also thinking cressi minima, and the Mares ESA. The main thing I want is 180 vision and low volume. And now that the ESA is down to £49 (you did that on purpose) I'm even more stuck, so open to the more seasoned divers to help the newbie out. Thanks in advance.

This is most definently the best freediving mask! Low volume, streamelined, but the bent lenses distort the image jusst a litte little bit, but you shouldent hessitate to buy it because of that. It is such an experience to have the 180 degree vision wich well makes up for the distortion. The Spehera doesent eather magnify the image verry much so, it's allso suted for spearfishing. Great mask, great diving store!

I bought the sphera about a month ago. It takes a few mins of every dive to get used to (because of the plastic lenses) again especially if you have been using a standard tempered glass mask inbetween. The field of vision is excellent, very good for instructors who might be dealing with a few students at once, you can still look out the corner of your eye to keep check on them.

Cheaper than alcohol

I bought this mask with great expectations since I've heard so much about it from other free divers, and I also tried it in a scuba store and found the field of vision to be totally great. Me and my friends got three masks and we are all pretty much unable to use them. The plastic lenses are not only curved at the sides but they also seem alittle irregularly bent on the front surface which is supposed to be flat. I recommend you to try it out in the water if possible before you buy it. If you free dive for depth along a rope the mask is probably fine but if you are a recreational free diver, who like us, wish to look around, I would not recommend this mask.

This maks takes a few times to get used to but after that the field of vision during a game is uncomparable if you are experienced for a beginner this might not be the best choice

Not bad for a beginner UW-rugby/hockey player either (that's me). I was very annoyed at the limited visiblity of my minima, so I got a sphera instead and it is great! Getting used to the distortion took only a minute or so and after that I didn't think about it anymore! So far I have only used it for training in a pool, so I'm not sure how I will like diving with it in the ocean, but I will find out when the weather gets better.

I bought an Aqualung Shera mask earlier this year and have enjoyed it immensely. I bought it because it was 30 dollars (us) and I enjoyed using the Aqualung SEAL gogles for general swimming. My first consern was that the curvature of the plastic lens would cause distortion. I found this not to be a problem. I like the light weigh of this mask and the extra field of view. Once you get use to it, these benifits more than makes up for any distortion. I had a friend try my mask, he stated that he noticed some distortion at first and it made him a little distoriented. Once he got use to it, he loved it. Now I have to figure out how to get the mask back from him. After diving with this mask for a year, I would not want to go back to a normal mask.

Ik heb dit masker gekocht omdat ik het er leuk vond uitzien en in het zwembad nogal actief meedoe en hard zwem. De aquadynamische vormgeving leek mij wel wat. Dat is ook pre~~~s het enige wat goed is aan het masker. Er door kijken gaat namelijk knap beroerd. Kennelijk is het plastic (waar de "glazen" uit bestaan) niet helemaal gelijkmatig gebogen en niet overal even dik. Als je er doorkijkt vertekent het nagenoeg alles en heb je het idee dat de bezopen bent. Het vreemde is dat de bril bovenwater wel goed kijkt. Ik zou de bril echt aan niemand aanbevelen, het is gewoon weg gegooid geld. Jammer.

I got the mask for freediving and snorkeling (primarily). The fit is fantastic, and the vision would have been excellent but I had a major problem with fogging. Using the silcon based defogger didn't even seem to work. I've always been very weary of plastic based lenses and this pretty much confirms all I thought.

I am on my 3 Sphera mask and by now and I hate anything else - beware it is addictive. It scratches pretty easy, and the transparent one has annoying reflex ions in a pool (as do most transparent masks). It is the perfect beginners mask for scuba diving because the volume is so small. This makes clearing the mask extremely easy. If you berate just a little through your nose NO water stays in the mask. (When teaching students to fill and especially half fill the mask it takes some practice to keep the water in?º) I used it form tropical Thailand (28C) to icy Denmark (-2C) and can only recommend it ... Ok it is true some have problems adjusting to the fact that they can suddenly se under water.

Degene die hem wil hebben mag hem zo ophalen bij me (3 x gebruikt). Er is gewoon niet door te kijken vanwege de vertekening. Zeg niet dat het meevalt, want dat doet het niet. Ook niet na enige tijd van gewenning..... Wie wil er nou een bril waar je aan de vertekening moet wennen? Gewoon een *%&bril. Degene die problemen hebben met beslaan en het blijven houden moeten eens siliconenkit verwijderaar van Alabastine gebruiken. Gegarandeerd beslaat je bril niet meer. Mors alleen niet op het siliconenrubber en haal de glazen (indien mogelijk) er uit.

Wow 1 day from Barcelona! That is incredible. Oredered it yesterday and got it today. Really good service I wanted all black. But a nice girl from the divestore called and said it was only black skirt and colored frame. No problem it fits really good and it will be my mask for the 47m dive! Thank you again scubasture : )

Well it is obvious that most of the people have not tried the mask in water before writing a review. For deep spearfishing get the Minima! For deep freediving get the Sphera (all the top freedivers use Sphera) . The vision is very plastic and if you need to see above surface it is bad because the water sticks to the lens. Point is the field of usable vision is the same in the Minima and the Sphera. The Sphera gives you a detection view to the sides but this it not usable for a hunter since you have no idea what it is that moves. Just my opinion.

Voor het spelen van onderwaterhockey is dit het perfecte masker. je hebt een breed overzicht. het beeld vertekend wel een beetje, maar dat is beter dan dat je je tegenstander helemaal niet ziet. verder zit het masker super, lekker dicht op het gezicht zodat je zo min mogelijk weerstand hebt. Minimaal de helft van het team speelt met een sherpa

Ik heb dit masker nu 1 maand en hij gaat zo de vuilnisbak in. Wat een ongelofelijk vertekenende kutbril. Compleet waardeloos.

I have used the mask for UW-Rugby, and the plastic glas is not got if get a hit on the plastic glas. The plastic glas pops out, and get filled with water. I can´t therefore recomend the mask for UW-Rugby or UW-Hockey because of the problem with the glas poppin out.

This is the best mask I've ever tried. Unfortunately I just broke mine last weekend while diving - propably it's frame just froze in 5C temperature. Anyway, I will get new one.

Perfect mask for Constant Weight. + great field of vision + mask flexes around your face a little if pressure is not equalized, perfect for deep diving - plastic lenses scratch very easily - lenses can start popping out of the frame / mask can start leaking after using their possibility to flex for (quite a...) a while.

This is the ultimate constant ballast mask, it deforms with the depht, and I don´t have to equalize it all. Perfect for Competitive Freedivers, this mask has been taken to 105 meters.

Aqualungs' Sphera is the best mask on the market for Freediving. If you want an extremely low volume mask, this is for you. I would not use it for anything else than going deep - up and down. Awesome mask if you do not want to waste air clearing on the when going deep.

Have a Cressi Matrix but wanted mask with wider filed of vision. Got SPHERA (following the description). Outside of water it gives really wide field of vision. But when I put it on my face in the water ? I felt like I?m sitting inside of Cola bottle. - This mask is not suitable for spearfishing - distortion is too big.

Scratches easily, excellent fov

Imho the only drawback to this mask is that it scratches easily. It is low-volume and fits my particular face pretty good. The curved lenses is not an issue for me, you can even spear fish with it. I'd recommend the whiners to get another mask :)

This is my 2nd Sphera mask.1st from Scubastore.Fast turn around.If you have a moustache,you may find this mask handy.No need to smear vaseline etc over your mo.Any water only requires me to expel air thru my nose from time 2 time. Don`t butcher the lense seals.They can pop out.Enjoy, cobbers.

Best mask I ever used. Field of vision is just enormous. Because I bought the mask online I wasnt able to try it before I bought it. But the mask fits perfectly, no leaks! The mask comes with a plastic case and when you keep you mask in that case it cant get so easily scratched. Also super fast delivery from Scubastore. 2 days from spain to belgium.
