I have never used a spear gun before, which one do you recommend me. Is it by body weight or size.(I am measure 5".5' and I weight 118 Lb.) People have recommended me a 75 cm,but I am not sure which one to buy or what are the most important features when buying this item. Thanks for the help scubastore, keep up the good work Marie

Marie, Rubber band guns tend to be more difficult to load than pneumatics. If you choose a 75cm band gun with 16mm bands, it might have not the desired effect on a decent size fish. I would suggest a 75cm pneumatic gun, with power adjuster - it would be as strong as a 1m gun with 18mm bands.

I have found the Camanche 75 to be an excellent spaergun! Myself and group of spearfishing friends have rated this gun as the best so far compared to simillar guns. The gun is easy to use the safety being easy to use with the gun holding had (some seem to take both hands!!), it is accurate and easy to load. A great all-rounder.

What about danger?

Obviously I am a novice.All I'd like to I ask is whether there is any danger using spearguns,for the hunter I mean,not the fish. :) I hope this doesn't sound too naive.I'd be glad somebody letting me know. Thanks in advance

I think this is one of the best guns.Just one thing.If you are going to catch serious fish, you must change slings and spear.(Maybe 17mm slings and 6.3 or 6.5 spear)

I love this gun,i have the 90 and it's been utterly fine except.....i've damaged 'eye' on the muzzle and i've had to improvise a repair...but,i can't seem to find a replacement muzzle anywhere for this gun.....any ideas anyone?

.......if your muzzle breaks....forget it......noone can sort you out....even cressi that can give you a part number and a price can't actually get you one......odd...sure,ive repaired it so it works but whats the deal....why is it so tricky to get hold of one?..

sean, you can add another rubber to the camanche, but i would suggest that you look for another muzzle for the gun, like a hammer open muzzle, which would allow you to use two bands, and it would be alot smoother more accurate,and quiet.

Great gun. I use the 110 and i find it accurate and very well balanced in the water. you may want to put a thicker spear on it though, as one decent fish will destroy this one.

The Commanche gun is very effectiv and smooth in its design. I use the 90 for fishing in Denmark but i wish i could change the muzzle into an open one. Sean from Hawwaii talks about changing the muzzle into something else..Is that possible?? if yes, witch one would you recommend?? thanks for a great store and great service Casper Clemmensen

The length specified for the gun is the barrel tube length, not including the handle, muzzle or spear overhand (usually 40cm). The Commanche is slim, lightweight gun with a slim handle -- anyone could use this but it is a particular good choice for those with smaller hands. The length of the gun is usually chosen based on visibility. Longer guns for clearer water, shorter guns for poorer visibility and caves/wrecks/etc. 75cm gun should be fine for most fish to 20lb+ but for clear water you might need a longer gun. Pneumatics have a following and are usually powerful for the size but band guns are more commonly used & simpler. The Commanche was designed and used by a World Champion. The muzzles are now available on this website and I have seen them in the stores. Quite reasonably priced at around £4.50. It is unclear from this product description which spear, if any, is included (usually they are included). yo lo tengo y debo decir que es un buen fusil, que sobretodo a mar abierto va muy bien y tiene mucha potencia. El único punto flaco que tiene es la poca maniobrabilidad que proboca. Lo recomiendo a todo el mundo.

have the 110cm and the 75cm which is a better all rounder 110cm has alot of drag on it when following a fish , 75cm way quicker and still has enough power to kill fish , great gun would recommend

Ive had the 90cm version and Ive used this gun for the past 2 season and love it. However, I did some well needed mods to make it work even better. The first was I swapped the bands for G20 bands. The bands are very very powerful, and work best on the first knotch. Then I switched the wishbone to spectra, also smoothing out the knotches with a dremel tool. The gun is super quiet when shooting. I also added a reel which is awesome!

I bought this gun and have been using it for two years. It is a very accurate gun. It is well worth the 0 dollars I paid for mine. I have the 90cm. I have not had to replace the bands and have had no malfunctions. This is a great entry level gun.
